  1. I just bought mine in the US, it’s ammazing, most of them u can buy unlocked and i threw in my cingular chip and was using the phone within 40 seconds. I got mine off of ebay for about US$387, but the seller didnt’ respond for a few days, i got it finally but it had arabic alphabet next to the english keys, which is ok i didn’t mind it too much. There’s also another low-cost site that i’ve seen you can check them out, i have not done any businesswith them personally so i dont know about their service, but they ship the e61 in the US and it’s the lowest price i’ve seen:
    http://www.gandhiappliances.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=141&products_id=1137

also do NOT wait for the e60 (its cousin soon to be released by cingular) as that is a dumbed down version of the e61, no Wifi and degraded 3G i beleive.

  4. few sites like

  5. Got mine in Canada for $465 CAD ($415 USD) from http://www.puremobile.ca. They shipped mine in 24 hours to Vancouver! (I paid the $20 CAD shipping fee, or they would have shipped it free but using surface Purolator).

You can get it in the US from http://www.puremobile.com for slightly lower price. They are very professional and provide shipping tracking number.

And, oh, the keyboard is English!

  6. Machani, when you say the keyboard is English, you in fact mean there are not other characters on the keyboard. For example upside down exclamation points (!) or upside down question marks (?); these would be found on the English/Spanish keyboard.

  7. Some One,
Coming to think of it, my E61’s keyboard does not look exactly like the on shown in the picture in gsmarena.com
    ( http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_e61-pictures-1322.php ).

I did a key by key check, and my keyboard contains ALL the keys shown in the gsmarena.com picture. In addition, a number of keys in my E61: Q, W, E, A, S, Chr have a third character. Those characters look like extension of an Asian language (like Japanese).

In addition the Z and X keys contain additional characters, respectively. I don’t see these two keys in the picture in gsmarena.com.

So I am happy with my keyboard anyway!

  12. I just purchased an E61. It’s great, but come to find out it is not 3G capable on Cingular’s network. I was not aware of that and a bit dissapointed. Anyone have any suggestions on when we will go UMTS 2100 or is there some software, etc. that will get the phone to work on the Cingular 3G network?

GK | 9:01 am on the 20th of August, 2006

  13. I may be wrong but I do not think the US is going to roll out its UMTS service in the 2100 spectrum. See the following website for more information: (http://www.three-g.net/3g_spectrum.html). My limited knowledge of the 3G spectrum precludes me from really stating if the US will use the 2100 band or not.

  14. I bought an e61 at Eport in DC yesterday for around $400, but there are some available on ebay for less, it appears, also unlocked.

I was told it would work in South Korea on their 3G network there (i am moving there next week). can anyone corroborate this? I would hate to get there and have my new gadget turn out to be worthless…
