Using text based phone number on E61

Has anyone figured out how to dial phone numbers with text (e.g. 1-800-9ETRADE would be 1-800 937 7233)  I am trying to figure out how to do this.  Your help would be greatly appreciated

  2. i dont think its possible. …its assumed that you know the corresponding numbers for the letters (ex. “ETRADE”).

ive been told that dialing letters is possible for the e62 by holding the “char” button while pressing the buttons. give that a try

  3. One thing I can think of is to have a background picture with a keypad in the lower left corner (where it’s not covered by the phone number) to guide you.

  6. last 2 comments were useless
    - holding # switches profiles (last 2 used? Between General/Silent in my case)
    - obviously there is a need for letter to numbers. and learn how to spell.

  7. Depending on phone, earlier E61 could not (maybe firmware fix) E62 hold Chr key and type letters :)
