Hi all, I searched a lot about this topic, but without success. That’s why I’m posting here…

We want to use Nokia E61 phones in our office, which is equiped with a VoIP over WLAN solution. Our VoIP provider confirmed to us that he already have made tests with the E61 and his VoIP service, so that you can connect to the company-internal WLAN and make/take calls on your mobile phone through the VoIP gateway.

A nice feature would be to be able to dial numbers from an address book on your PC (e.g. Outlook). After you have clicked on a phone number you can pick up your E61 and a connection to this number is established. Here are my questions: 1) Has anyone seen a solution which can control your E61 remotely to dial numbers and 2) would this also work through a bluetooth connection?

Thanks for any hints and tipps in advance.

Especially, after using Jasjam.

With PPC devices, I can sync outlook items – notes, emails, subfolders, all calendar events etc without any problems via activesync.

Can E61 be done the same way?

I have an E61 which sync’d perfectly first time and since then hasnt sync’d once. I have checked all the settings and recreated the profile umpteen times as well as upgrading ‘mail for exchange’ from v1.02 to v1.03.

None of this helps. But it gets weirder.

The first time the machine sync’d it was using 3G portal (the WAP portal) which Nokia tells me is impossible. Well, the machine’s internet portal works for surfing but just freezes now when i try to sync.

Also weird is that of the 3 machines in the office so far, one works perfectly while mine and another show the same type of error. Both our SP and Nokia are stumped.

Any ideas? We are really spending hours on this and i’d like to explore all options before we simply downgrade.

Thanks

Boz

PC Sync seems to not sync what I’m used to write in my Calendar and Task long description field (I use Outlook 2003) because on the E61 I can see only the Subject.

This sounds very strange to me because the sync application seems to take into considerations the modification applied to this field (as a matter of fact in the sync log you can read all the log description and the modification too).

I wrote to the Nokia Support but they told me that not all the phone have the same features and so … help yourself and look for a 3rd party application.

I’m doing something wrong?

There is some way to have my Outlook fully syncronized with the E61? I was used to Palm where also the Categories were syncronized!!!!
