Here are some tips for Mac OSX – getting Internet access through the E61. I’m
writing this now using my E61 via T-Mobile (US). It worked for me with OSX
10.3.9 (eMac 1.25GHz), and with OSX 10.4.8 (PowerBook G4 1.25GHz).

I’m using a Nokia CA-70 cable that I got from AccessoryGeeks.com ($24.99, with
free shipping – BTW it doesn’t look original, I don’t see a Nokia logo)
This cable also charges your E61 thru the USB while you’re connected.
http://www.accessorygeeks.com/nokia-ca-70-data-cable.html?code=

Download Ross Barkman’s modem scripts. Scroll down the page, and control-click
or right-click the link labeled “Nokia 3G Scripts”, it’s a Stuffit archive
(.sit). I used Stuffit Expander to open the archive.
http://www.taniwha.org.uk/

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE README CALLED “+ReadMe.rtf”. The scripts work
with the Network settings under System Preferences:

You’ll need the APN for your carrier. Here’s a list of the correct settings for
most networks. Just to reinforce Ross Barkman’s instructions, you’re going to
enter an APN location where the telephone number usually goes (for T-Mobile
Total Internet I entered internet3.voicestream.com as the telephone number).
http://www.taniwha.org.uk/gprs.html

IMPORTANT IMPORTANT: When you plug the E61 into the Mac, you’ll get a pop-up on
the E61 screen with 3 choices, select “PC Suite” (I tried “IP Passthrough” but
it didn’t work for me).

Best of luck

Written and sent to NokMe by Chris Labbe.

P.S. There is a easy way connecting thru bluetooth…but this way saves power, thx Chris!
