Speed Dial, Blackberry Email & Alarm Clock
I love this E61 but I have a couple of questions on different topics; if I get the answers I want, I’ll love it even more!
1: One of the good features of Blackberry is the ability to use the querty keypad for speed dial, so you can assign easily remembered keys to each number (eg W for wife, O for office etc, instead of 2 fr wife, 3 for office etc - and who can remember which is which?) - plus it gives lots of entries. I haven’t found anything similar on the E61 other than the standard numeric speed dial. Is there a way to expand to the querty?
2 Another Blackberry feature is the daily alarm - same time everyday, no need to set it each time. Anything similar on the Nokia - so far I’ve only found out how to set the alarm day by day.
3 As a Blackberry convert, I use Blackberry email on the E61. Deleting is a long process - any way to “select all” and then delete?
Thanks - can you make me love it even more!
For alarms and timers I use HandyClock from Epocware… it’s excellent as are HandyTaskman and HandyWeather.

To delete all emails you can go in options and select Mark All and then delete. If you want to select multiple emails press the “UP ARROW” and move your joystick up or down which will select emails.

For a recurring alarm without installing anything, you can use the calendar to set a recurring event. That way, you can use it like an alarm.
I have a recurring event called “Wake up” set for weekdays. Works like a charm
- of course implementing this in the alarm application itself would have made more sense.

Param: That does NOT work with Blackberry messages.. .Works with POP3…
When you multi select messages there is no delete option on the menu.

NickP, What version of Blackberry connect are you using? I have the 6.44(3) and I can delete multiple emails. Also if you dont see the delete option in the menu trying hitting the backspace key.

For multi message delete use shift key to select the message you want then hit backspace to delete
Count | 12:17 pm on the 18th of January, 2007
Param and Count are both RIGHT - if you have 1st message selected, hold shift key and scroll all the way down…. you will see green checkmarks appear on selected messages. Then hit backspace button.
