Hi all, I searched a lot about this topic, but without success. That’s why I’m posting here…
We want to use Nokia E61 phones in our office, which is equiped with a VoIP over WLAN solution. Our VoIP provider confirmed to us that he already have made tests with the E61 and his VoIP service, so that you can connect to the company-internal WLAN and make/take calls on your mobile phone through the VoIP gateway.
A nice feature would be to be able to dial numbers from an address book on your PC (e.g. Outlook). After you have clicked on a phone number you can pick up your E61 and a connection to this number is established. Here are my questions: 1) Has anyone seen a solution which can control your E61 remotely to dial numbers and 2) would this also work through a bluetooth connection?
Thanks for any hints and tipps in advance.

The user’s manual says a talk time of 4-7 hours and standby time of about 8 days. I only use my phone for texting and a bit of calling under GSM mode only — it lasts only for 2 days. Is this normal? Does opening an office suite or any application lessen the full battery life?

I’ve been using Pocket PC devices for awhile since O2 XDA origianl to XDAIIs, and the last one, Imate JasJam. I’m thinking of changing a new phone and E61 is on top of my list - well there is not much, other than E61 since there is not many phones with the featuers I’m after. Especially, after using Jasjam.
With PPC devices, I can sync outlook items - notes, emails, subfolders, all calendar events etc without any problems via activesync.
Can E61 be done the same way?

I just bought a Nokia E61. I like it so much. I just have a problem updating my message inbox. Whenever I receive a text message from someone which is not in my contact list and then I update my contact list (i.e. add the number to the phone book), the message inbox does not update the sender. It still shows the number instead of the name of the sender in the inbox folder. Can you help me with this?

Hi there, I have a question regarding the functionality of Exchange ActiveSync agent for E61. I’ve been using it for a while quite successfully and very pleased with it, the only thing which I miss at the moment is ability to sync the Inbox subfolders; I don’t know whether it is possible to set this up. I use v.1.3.1 agent (the latest one), and also can play with Exchange settings on the server side (I’m a IT manager ;-)). Can you please tell me whether this issue can be resolved or not? I know that Windows-based mobile device DO support subfolders synching…

I recently downloaded from Nokia’s E61 support site the latest PC Suite and software update application. I have tried twice to install the update (my current firmware is 1.0610.04.04) and it failed each time (after downloading 41 MB of stuff and working on it fro 10 minutes). I then tried resetting the phone to factory defaults and repeated the process twice more, both time it failed. The good news is the phone still works but I’d love to get the f/w current. Any suggestions?

I have a high capacity RS MMC memory card from an old phone (Nokia 6260) which has become completely useless ever since I purchased a New E61 which uses Mini SD card and ships with a low capacity memory card.
Is there any adapter that can allow me to use the RS MMC in the SD card slot?
PS> Don’t get me wrong. I’ll love the E61 even if this is not possible!
