question about BB Pin?
Is it possible to get PIN messages on the Nokia E61? I find some answers saying yes and some answers saying no.
thanks!

I have this problem with my E61 “not charging”. When I plug the phone into the charger, it’ll charge for a little while–30 seconds to 10 minutes–and then beep and say “Not charging.” If I unplug and replug the charger, then it’ll charge for a little while longer, but I have to keep doing it over and over again to get a full charge. I also try using Nokia Car charger to charge the phone and I still get “not charging” message in 10-30 seconds. Did anyone of you ever experience this? And how do you solve the problem? I know I am not the only on ever experience this. I am sure lots of folks would really appreciate you sharing your solutions. Nokia USA is not offering any help because the phone is not supported in US. Nokia UK cannot help either becasue I am in US. I am disappointed with Nokia support.
I love this E61 but I have a couple of questions on different topics; if I get the answers I want, I’ll love it even more!
1: One of the good features of Blackberry is the ability to use the querty keypad for speed dial, so you can assign easily remembered keys to each number (eg W for wife, O for office etc, instead of 2 fr wife, 3 for office etc - and who can remember which is which?) - plus it gives lots of entries. I haven’t found anything similar on the E61 other than the standard numeric speed dial. Is there a way to expand to the querty?
2 Another Blackberry feature is the daily alarm - same time everyday, no need to set it each time. Anything similar on the Nokia - so far I’ve only found out how to set the alarm day by day.
3 As a Blackberry convert, I use Blackberry email on the E61. Deleting is a long process - any way to “select all” and then delete?
Thanks - can you make me love it even more!
I’ve got v3 firmware running on my E61 and loads of software (but still plenty of memory for more installs) plus a 2GB memory card.
Today my vibrating alert stopped working. I checked the profile config and it was set to yes. I turned the phone off/on again and still no change. Turned the profile setting off then on again in multiple variations without luck. Tried uninstalling the last installed application to no avail. Reinstalled the app and tried it all over again. Even tried briefly connecting the power cable and removing it.
Finally it started working again, but I have a feeling like it’s fainter than before. Only in the last few weeks have I noticed the vibrating alert doesn’t work when the charger is hooked up to it. I don’t know why it went out or what I did that got it back up.
Anyone experience this before? Is it hardware or software related, or potentially both?
Not a whole lot more info than we had last time around — in fact, zero more info for anyone keeping track — but we haven’t managed to get close to the E61i before now. No real surprises here, and this is just a dummy unit, so we don’t even have any screen brightness to assess, but hey, beggers can’t be choosers, and those additional smart buttons and spiced up d-pad look promising, even if the phone for the most part seems relatively unchanged. Peep the back of the phone (including camera hawterness) after the break.
I updated my firmware to get the benefit of the faster browser. After doing so i lost the calendar display on the today screen (active standbby screen). Anyone else experience this and figure out a way to fix it?
i have an unlocked e61 and have only ben able to play 3 g movies and not mp4 of any kind when i try
it tells me cant play video or clip is trying to play partially
i have tryed using the pc suite converted nothing works any ideas
Hi everyone! I was wondering what features or software that E61 lacks people would like to have.
Personally what I find lacking is things related to the SMS that I’m used to from Sony Erikson phones, such as the Chat feature, which makes more sense than having outgoing and incoming messages in separate folders, and unsorted by user.
Sorry to disturb all the non-US e61 users but I have run into trouble with Cingular’s XpressMail on my e61. Following a recent update to the Cingular service the latest copy of the XpressMail client seems to think I have the network version as opposed to the personal edition. As a result, I can no longer log into my Xpressmail. Multiple downloads, resets, and calls to Cingular tech support haven’t saved me yet.
Has anyone managed to get XpressMail 6.7 personal edition to work on an e61? If so, can you please tell me how you made it happen?
Thanks!

Hi all,
I am a proud user of a e61 for 4 months now and I’ve accidentally deleted the WorldMate bundled program… I tried to download the latest version at it’s developer website, but now it is asking me to pay for the program which is supposedly free to all e61 owners. I even restored my phone to the factory settings hoping to see the WorldMate there again, bu that didn’t happen.
Where I can find the bundled version of WorldMate to reinstall in my e61?
Thanks in advance!
PS: it wasn’t possible to download the software through Nokia Catalog in the phone menu neither…
