Outlook syncs once then fails for all subsequent attempts
Hi,
I have an E61 which sync’d perfectly first time and since then hasnt sync’d once. I have checked all the settings and recreated the profile umpteen times as well as upgrading ‘mail for exchange’ from v1.02 to v1.03.
None of this helps. But it gets weirder.
The first time the machine sync’d it was using 3G portal (the WAP portal) which Nokia tells me is impossible. Well, the machine’s internet portal works for surfing but just freezes now when i try to sync.
Also weird is that of the 3 machines in the office so far, one works perfectly while mine and another show the same type of error. Both our SP and Nokia are stumped.
Any ideas? We are really spending hours on this and i’d like to explore all options before we simply downgrade.
Thanks
Boz
I found some sync issues with Mail4Exchange which made it impossible to sync my calendar, but contacts and email were fine…
Then I did a reset on my E61 reinstalled the E50 version which I had downloaded for an N73 and now everything is all good - no idea what the deal there is, but when it works it works quite well.

I think what Nokia meant was that you can´t use a WAP enabled accesspoint for the connection to the server. You need a www-enabled one. These are quite different. An GPRS WAP accesspoint is connecting trough your service providers WAP-gateway and doesn´t allow traffic to e.g. mail-servers. For this you need an GPRS Internet accesspoint from the operator.
3G portals are Internet enabled (even if you can view WAP content with this connection, but it doesn´work the opposite way = With a WAP accesspoint you can´t view www-pages, use 3G features etc.
