Nokia E61 remote control – Dial numbers from your PC
Hi all, I searched a lot about this topic, but without success. That’s why I’m posting here…
We want to use Nokia E61 phones in our office, which is equiped with a VoIP over WLAN solution. Our VoIP provider confirmed to us that he already have made tests with the E61 and his VoIP service, so that you can connect to the company-internal WLAN and make/take calls on your mobile phone through the VoIP gateway.
A nice feature would be to be able to dial numbers from an address book on your PC (e.g. Outlook). After you have clicked on a phone number you can pick up your E61 and a connection to this number is established. Here are my questions: 1) Has anyone seen a solution which can control your E61 remotely to dial numbers and 2) would this also work through a bluetooth connection?
Thanks for any hints and tipps in advance.
Don’t know if there is an app for Windows PCs, but Jons Phone Tool does exactly what you’re asking for, but only on Macs.
Dials mobilephones (over bluetooth) or VoIP phone (we have a Cisco system) out of the addressbook, or just highlighted numbers on a website. Love it, worth the $

I think, it;s simple.
1st – make phone paired with pc-bt and set pc to trusted and autoconnect-able devices.
Make phone act as seriall device (rfcomm)
then, just send to phone command AT-dial command:
$> echo atd5556677 > /dev/rfcomm0
Some systems will wait for ^M at end of echo output, take a look to echo manpage
This is very fast and dirty solution for linux systems
