Thank you guys: Gavin, Jesse, for letting me know!

Native iSync Nokia E61 support in Mac OS X 10.4.9

Yesterday, Apple released Mac OSX Update 10.4.9 which now has native support for our loved Nokia E61 and E62.

Just make a new connection via bluetooth to sync with new drivers…I must say it works more accurate then the Macomsters I’ve been writing earlier.

Let me know, your experience on this one…

  6. 1. What’s the difference between Macomsters and native 4.9 support???

    2. Do I need to uninstall Macomsters script?

  7. Anyone know how to uninstall the mactomster plugins?

kmo | 11:56 pm on the 14th of March, 2007

  8. Guys, you don’t have to uninstall Macomsters drivers, when you update your Mac OS X with new 10.4.9 update, your previous drivers automatically gets deleted.

To be sure check that your new icon look like mine on the picture.

And when you press on this icon in iSync you may read in the bottom that it “Provided by Apple Inc. v(2.4)

  9. I have NOT been able to sync with Mac 10.4.9 and my E61. It worked before with a third party plugin but not after the OSX update, which did add the E61 support but it doesnì’t work.

Anyone else out there in this condition?

  12. Hi guys, i have managed to get my e61 to sync again. I had to ‘reset devices’ in isync, delete the plug in and its working fine now.

Pete | 4:06 pm on the 14th of March, 2007

  13. Thanks Pete

I only reset the E61 device (ie not any other devices in isync) and it worked for me - without even deleting anything (plugin etc) - because I couldn’t find it!!

Now if I could onlt get catagories (ie from Entourage) into the to dos list I’d be verrrry happy.

    Thanks again

  14. i was about to start pulling my hair out. My E61 synced just fine with my work macbook but not with my imac in the office… but a simple reset of the device on isync fixed everything… Thanks for that

  15. what is the best way to get entourage contacts and calendar to isync to the E61? any ideas?

  16. Unfortunately the “reset trick” doesn’t seem to have done it in my case, even after deleting the plugin. Previously I had the Nova Media plugin installed (now uninstalled), I wonder if that is the conflict?

  17. No way!!! I did whatever you mentioned elsewhere. It doesn’t work. Why, where I was wrong? Please Help!!!

  18. my isync does not see my e61 through bluetooth, my bluetooth utility does.. Is it not possible to use BT for Isync?

jasper | 4:15 am on the 14th of March, 2007

  19. I too cannot get the thing to work. Tried everything here… plus deleted all files I can find relating to the old plugin which was mactomster - including the files in the isync package contents. Reset everything loads of times - removed the device and added again from bluetooth settings. Still pulling ‘Unexpected Error - Synchronization Failed’.

Gutted - worked fine before the 10.4.9 update

    HELP!!!!

  30. I have an Intel 10.4.10 tower and a new E61. When I plug the cable in, iSync cannot find the device. If I set the E61 to data transfer, it shows up as a device on my Mac, but iSync still does not see it. I never had any third party plugins. Any ideas?

Steve | 11:30 am on the 14th of March, 2007
