Insuring your e61 in the USA
Most of us in the US have spent a good amount of personal income to purchase this phone (around $400-$500) and since it is not offered by any phone companies i was wondering if anyone has come up with clever solutions to insure this puppy for around the usual $5 per month charged for insuring most handsets.
Yeah! I want to know too!!
I dropped it once and (since I didn’t have insurance) was really worried but the concrete that it fell on felt NO damage (after I cleaned the dirt off)!!!
I was SUPER happy, I had thought that my newest gadget was broken!

I dont think that is possible. But i have seen that Tmobile Business is giving E61 with a 2year contract. for $299.99
now i dont know if its unlocked or their version sice i saw this on froogle.com.
I am guessing if tmobile is giving away these things, they are probably even insuring it. Other chances, nokia hasnt really given us a backbone with these things. We r …on our own

Doesn’t your home insurance (renters insurance as well) cover your property including your cell phone. I guess the deductible is the issue. What some do is get a second insurance policy that covers the deductible only… What do you think?

If you buy the E61 off an e bay store, they may offer an “extended warranty” for 3 years - from square trade”. I did buy that, it covers everything but damage for about $35

I just ordered my E61 from ImportGSM and they have a interesting Feature that will cost you an additional 15% of your purchase price.

Basicly the guest of it is that you can do any damage to your phone, and they will replace it.
They cover Water damage too, all you have to do is recover the phone and send to them in peices etc.

I too bought my phone from import gsm. Dennis and all the guys that work there are great. I did buy the extended service form them and they insured me that if anything happend to my e61 that it would taken care of. Those guy also provide great customer service i orded the phone from them a little while back and i went into their office to pick it up and it didnt arrive yet as the shipment was delayed and Dennis gave me his personal e61 to use with all his contacts in and everythig while i waited for my e61 to arrive. Once it arrived it was overnighted to me at no cost. Awsome guys and nice service plan for the e61.
