Gmail.com on Nokia E-61
Hi, can somebody tell me how to configure Googlemail (gmail.com) on my Nokia E-61? I’ve tried every conceivable combination of port numbers and security settings, but it just won’t work. Also, I tried it with Outlook, with no success there either. Thanks in advance!
Download google mobile. Far easier to use.

Setting up the POP3 email client on the E61 isnt the easyest thing in the world to do, but, google has handed you a very easy way to get your email. I use the Gmail client on my E61 all the time it works beautifully and its a lot more problem-free than the built-in client. E-Series.org did a very nice article on the software http://www.e-series.org/archives/176 Have fun!

As has already been noted the GMail mobile app is really excellent… far easier to use and you get the functions of Gmail with a few exceptions - but search works really well and it’s quite fast once it loads.

The Google Mobile client has one really major problem: it can’t work in offline mode. I tried it recently, but I find it useless, because I want to read the emails on my way to and from work (i.e., in offline mode).

Built-in client better, because you can set it to check mail every 30 min and Gmail client its java, so it will use 6 MB of RAM even in standby mode
so
1. Enable pop access in gmail through web interface
2. Start settings wizard on e61 (in tools menu). Nokia has wizard to simple setup your account at e61.
3. After completeng wizard go to the your new account settings and manualy change smtp port security to SSL (not StarTLS).
that`s all

Dont forget to rename pop.gmail.com to pop.googlemail.com. Same with smtp.

panariga, wizard in my case allows only for “T-Mobile” and “o2″. There is no options for my WLAN or for other free WLAN connections.

Hi all,
When i set-up my gmail through the wizard everything works fine for receiving but when i want to send emails it says: “this site has sent an untrusted certificate. Continue anyway ?”
How can i make it work without confirming everytime before sending emails ?
