Exchange synching - Inbox subfolders

Hi there, I have a question regarding the functionality of Exchange ActiveSync agent for E61. I’ve been using it for a while quite successfully and very pleased with it, the only thing which I miss at the moment is ability to sync the Inbox subfolders; I don’t know whether it is possible to set this up. I use v.1.3.1 agent (the latest one), and also can play with Exchange settings on the server side (I’m a IT manager ;-)). Can you please tell me whether this issue can be resolved or not? I know that Windows-based mobile device DO support subfolders synching…

  1. I am pretty sure it does NOT work given the current limitations of the software. It’s good to sync at all… but it would be nice to have the full capability. I’ve never had enough server space at work to use server based folders, but wish the M4E was able to reply to meeting notices so your calendar could be maintained while on the go.

  2. RoadSync doesn’t do sub-folders AFAIK, although it does correctly put outgoing mail in the Exchange ‘Sent Items’ folder which M4E doesn’t and it also handles meeting requests properly (plus some other stuff) when I trialled it, but I couldn’t justify the cost US$99.

It worked well, but seemed to clash with M4E (even when uninstalled) and needed a complete device reset, but after that all was well.

  3. Hi there

My friend uses RoadSync at his work - when RoadSync also is installed at the Exchange Server, Roadsync mirrors all the Exchange folders on your E61. It works perfectly.

In my company we don’t have Roadsync on the Exchange Server, and as you know, the folders are not mirrored.

    Hope it helps you.

  4. Just wanted to let you know that subfolder support is definately something that is on the shortlist of features to be added to RoadSync. It may work its way into version 3 by the time is is officially released (likely in Q1), we’ll have to wait and see. The beta of v. 3 is available now, but subfolders are not incorporated in that beta (however, some exchange 2007 mobility features are): http://www.dataviz.com/products/roadsync/series60/RDP/index.html
