Well actually i kindda like the Record button, easy to memorize someone's number of any details while on a hurry, or lets say, a quick call while driving.
But yes, Yana is right, remember to check and delete accidental recordings.

For the power button, Mark B i would advise if you lock the phone before sliding it in the holster
Either lock the keypad (Left menu key and function key).
Or if you want the phonelock (for password) then a quick press on the power button, and one tap of the joystick upwards, and voila.

Completely agree. Sound recorder and power buttons are easily pressed. Autolock solves this problem...

well i dont feel its a stupid questin because the whole point is that the power and recording keys are very easily activated when doing other tasks on the phone. its not about locking or not, but rather disabling a key. many other devices make power buttons recessed and must be held for quite a while to turn off phone (ie. my K750). I hit the recorder button all the time just picking up or holding the device while USING unlocked. That is the real problem.

If you use the normal keylock by pressing the left soft key then 'blue' key on bottom left this will also lock out the power key. then to unlock you simply press the same keys again. no need for passwords when you use the key lock. Also this way you dont need any extra software.

> more importantly is there a way to completely disable the darn recorder button

Absolutely agree. Don't forget to delete occasional audioclips time by time!

I already have an autolock function that is part GoodLink. Unfortunately this doesn't lock out the power key. I'd rather not have two layers of lock since its a real pain to have to unlock the keyboard just to enter a password to unlock the GoodLink security lock.

So maybe its not so stupid a question.
