Applications installed on my e61

e61 Software

This is my list of software I use and I plan to install someday with brief description on functionality. Those lists will be updated as soon as something will be changed on my phone:

1. “Autolock” free - download
As you may noticed there is no build in keylock on e61.

2. “SmartRoaming” trial - download
This software allows you to automatically switch between connections like GPRS, WiFi, etc, without loosing connection.

3. “Zip Manager” free - included
Useful tool for compresing and decompresing files on the fly.

4. “WorldMate” free - included
Current Weather, World Clock, Currency converter with updating rates, nice to have such applications free on my phone.

5. “Calcium” free - download
Simple to use calculator all calculations done with your joystick.

6. “iM+” trial - download
I’m not the lucky guy so I don’t have Instant Messaging software included on my e61, so I use alternative way to bad it’s trial and only 5 day…But it’s great.

7. “Screenshot” free - download
To make those screenshots I use this program it does it’s job great.

The list of sofware I plan to install:

1. “Handy Safe”
I had this software on my P900 very well done but I’m looking for one that could exchange data with my Mac, I haven’t seen any.

There is all list of phone services I use:

1. SIP (VoiP) - Save money on phone calls using your Nokia e61 and WiFi (internet).
2. Bluetooth in conjunction with “Bluetooth File Exchange” on my Mac to browse, send, receive files between phone and Mac.
3. Web browser on e61 is based on “Safari Browser” used on Macs. Very fast.

And more…coming soon!

  1. Privet Pasha!

Regarding IM application, Agile Messanger is out for S60 v3, could you actually try if it works fine on E61, because I would buy E61 if Agile works great. http://www.agilemobile.com/agile_messenger.html

  2. Alex, it works smoothly =) Actually e61 is S60 v3 Operating System!!!

  3. I know that it is operation system, what I was kindly asking you is to test this Agile version because it is still not final release and some people say that is not stable. Also, how do is it work with cyrillic encoding? I had Agile on P910 and this version had a bug with cyrillic encoding, didn’t work correctly with several PC clients.

  4. Alex surely the application works great I’m using it 20h a day and it didn’t hang even once. So I’m using CYR1251 and Russian encodings works the same good way as with ICQ PC Clients as well as with Adium clients on Mac…

If you need more info feel free to ask me anything you wish, I’ll be happy to help you =)

  7. hello nokme,

I love the Nokia E Series, but I prefer to buy the E70 rather than the E61. This is more of a personal preference because I find E61 too big to carry.

So my question is, do all the softwares discussed here applicable to E70 as well because the Nokia Symbian OS for all the E series are the same, Symbian OS 9.1 Series 60 UI 3rd edition?

I wanna know soon because I will be buying the E70 and I will be visiting your website for more updates and to contribute my own experiences here.

    Thank you.

  18. Hello

Only had my e61 for a couple of days now so this question might sound stupid. Have downloaded Divx player and for the life of me cant get it to point to a movie on the phone to play.

My second question is can you load software apps and have them based on the start up screen or the “desktop”? or do you have to goto “Installations” folder everytime you want to boot up a app?

    Cheers.. Mr.Spankey@gmail.com
