Application memory problem
Am actually using Nokia E61 to type this post.
Love this phone to bits. But currently been encountering problem of application shutting off by itself, sometimes error message indicating insufficient memory to run application.
But i used to run multiple applications in 1 go eg: msn, web browser & sms.
How do i free memory space to improve the performance of this phone? Pls help…!
Taskspy offers intervalled memory compression, freeing unused ram and can show all tasks and processes as well as the memory-amount they´re consuming. this may be able to show you what the ressource hog is. Xplore has some comparable functions if i recall correctly..
hope it helps, phanthomas

I found the same – running Java midlet – supposed to be un limited heap size but in fact kept getting out of memory errors loading a 115K picture. I had to send it back in the end.

I agree with post #1, Taskspy will be able to help you out a lot. Also, you should just get rid of any old audio files/pictures/themes/etc. that you don’t use anymore, as some can take up a very large amount of space.

on the standby screen, hold the menu button (that button left of the joystick) for about two seconds. that’ll show all the programs running on the phone. select those you don’t really use, highlight, and press backspace to end the program. that should free up some ram.
hope this helps.

The browser closes on me very often due to insufficient memory. I am meticulous about cleaning off old files, etc. I find the phone/browser is great for looking at websites with low graphics content but if you are trying to search eBay or something like that the browser will die rather quickly.

There is an alternative to solve your problem, please install handy taskman. Taskman is same as Task Manager on PC. It tries to monitor which is apps that consume your memory too much and you can kill immediately.
